FAQ Haiti donations
- I donated money via the ING for Something Better donation tool but I did not get a confirmation email. What should I do?
When donating money on the ING for Something Better website you should receive a confirmation email. If you did not, please contact chances.for.children@ing.com;and we will be happy to check it for you. - I donated money but the confirmation email I received did not state the amount. What should I do?
The email should state the amount of money you donated, unless the donation was made before 1 pm (CET) on 18 January. Please feel free to send an email to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address);if you wish to receive an email confirming the amount donated. - How will my donation for Haiti be used?
All the funds raised will be donated to UNICEF. With the money ING employees donate, UNICEF will provide emergency relief for children in Haiti. For the longer term, UNICEF will help the government with the reconstruction of the education system. Click here for information on what UNICEF has done so far. - Are there any costs involved in my donation?
No, your entire donation will be given to UNICEF. All costs for the online payment platform system, credit card fees, administrative costs and hosting charges are covered by ING. On top of that, ING will double all ING employee donations, meaning that 200% of the original donation goes to UNICEF. - Can I donate in dollars instead of euros?
For now the donation system is programmed to calculate in euros. Check the following link for exchange rate information. http://www.xe.com/ucc/ - Will ING double my donation?
ING will double all donations made by ING employees. If you are not an ING employee, your donation will not be doubled. However, all costs for the online payment platform system, credit card fees, administrative costs and hosting charges are covered by ING - regardless of whether the person donating is employed by ING. - I work for ING, but I am an external employee, can I still donate?
You are very welcome to donate money. Your donation will be doubled if you are able to provide us with a valid ING email address. - Are the donations tax-deductible?
This depends on the tax system in the country where you pay tax. The community investment projects that ING supports fall under the objectives of the ING for Something Better Foundation. In the Netherlands this Foundation has the ANBI status, which means donations are tax-deductible if you meet the conditions of the Dutch tax authorities. Please check www.belastingdienst.nl for more information on the situation in the Netherlands. - I do not work in the Netherlands but I would like to have a donation withheld from my salary. Is this possible?
Unfortunately not. If you’re not on the Dutch payroll system, it is not possible to have a donation withheld from your salary. The wide range of rules in different countries makes it impossible for us to have access to salary systems in countries other than the Netherlands. - What does the orange button with the percentage mean on the donation website
We have set ourselves a goal. We would like to raise at least EUR 100,000 through this global online initiative. The percentage indicates how much of this amount has been raised. Please note that the amount does not include the funds matched by ING or any other local employee matching initiative for UNICEF.
