ING For Something Better

Children’s Education

As part of our commitment to educators, ING honours and encourages excellence in education through a number of programmes and sponsorships, including:

America’s Promise Alliance

Founded by General Colin Powell and his wife, Alma, America’s Promise Alliance™ is the nation’s largest partnership of groups committed to ensuring that children receive the fundamental resources they need to lead successful, healthy and productive lives and build a stronger society. ING has made a five-year, $3 million commitment to support the organization

ING Unsung Heroes Awards Programme®

The ING Unsung Heroes® programme recognizes those classroom heroes who take teaching to new heights and make learning fun. Each year, ING presents 100 grants totalling $240,000 to help fund innovative classroom projects nationwide.

ING Run For Something Better™

ING wants to help people achieve not just financial fitness, but physical fitness as well. We work with local communities to create school-based running and fitness programmes, and distribute grants through the ING Run For Something Better™ School Awards. These community partnerships, which we call ING Run For Something Better™, introduce young people to the joys and challenges of running and show kids how exercise can help achieve good health.

ING DIRECT Planet Orange

ING DIRECT has developed the Planet Orange™ website, which features a Teachers Resource Center, to get kids excited about financial education.

National Teacher of the Year®

ING is proud to be the first-ever presenting sponsor of the National Teacher of the Year®, a programme of the Council of Chief State School Officers, which is the oldest, most prestigious national honours programme recognizing excellence in K-12 education in the U.S.

National Superintendent of the Year

As a co-sponsor of the National Superintendent of the Year (NSOY) program, ING is proud to work with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) and ARAMARK to recognize public school superintendents and their exceptional contributions towards educating America's youth.

Teach For America

ING supports Teach For America, the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates and professionals who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity. Corps members work relentlessly to ensure that more students in America’s lowest-income communities are given the educational opportunities they deserve.

ING and School District Leaders

ING is a proud Strategic Partner with Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) International. Among several initiatives ING is the exclusive sponsor of ASBO's Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) which recognizes school business officials for excellence in budget preparation.
