ING supports fight against poverty in Pact of Amsterdam
March 04, 2010 | ING Group
At this conference, businesses, including ING, and the Municipality of Amsterdam signed The Pact of Amsterdam. This Pact aims to forge closer links between businesses, civil society organisations and the municipality in order to combat poverty more effectively and efficiently.
ING sees the fight against poverty as a matter of great importance. ING is focusing on increasing the opportunities of disadvantaged children and young people in Amsterdam. Employees contribute their knowledge, skills and time to initiatives aimed at boosting their self-confidence and chances in the labour market. In this way we are seeking to avoid poverty and social exclusion for this target group wherever possible.
The Pact offers ING an opportunity to make its social engagement visible and to join forces with other businesses. Alongside ING, the Pact was also signed by IBM, Delta Lloyd, Microsoft, Agiad, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Rabobank Amsterdam.
