Investing in children, particularly in their education, is an important way to stimulate positive change. The ING Chances for Children program was launched in 2005 to bring together our various initiatives in the field of children’s education. It has a two-pronged approach – to underscore local partnerships and employee involvement in educational projects in the countries where we operate; and secondly, to focus on global educational initiatives through our partnership with UNICEF.
Our cooperation with UNICEF is aimed at expanding children’s access to education in countries such as Brazil, India, Ethiopia and Zambia. Our efforts are geared towards meeting the United Nations’ Second Millennium Development Goal, which is to ensure access to primary education for every child by 2015.
