- As of 2007, ING operates 100% carbon neutral globally.
- In 2009, ING has reduced its emissions of carbon dioxide with 10% compared to 2008 (extrapolated figures).
- 62% of the electricity we purchase worldwide is derived from wind, solar and water power.
- 60% of all ING business units implemented additional energy-efficiency measures in 2009.
- Over 40% of our business units purchase paper that carries an FSC, a PEFC, or other sustainable sourcing certificate.
- ING Green Finance (Dutch: ING Groenbank) manages EUR 992 million for ING customers for green projects.
- In 2009, ING provided access to primary education to 107,575 children via the ING Chances for Children programme.
- In November 2009, more than 17,000 employees participated in the first-ever global event for our global charity programme, ING Chances for Children.
- In 2009, ING and its employees raised EUR 20,6 million for charitable donations.
- 71% of our employees say they are proud to work for ING.
- 12.8% Women in the International Management Council (IMC).
- We have a total of EUR 2,524 million of sustainable assets under management.
- Dow Jones Sustainability Index and FTSE4Good Index: Sustainable benchmarks and indices recognise ING’s efforts in the field of Corporate Responsibility by increasing our score compared to previous years.
- ING has nine diversity employee networks around the world representing 8% of our workforce.
