- Introduction of Business Principle on the Declaration of Human Rights
2005
- Launch of the ING Chances for Children programme and international partnership with UNICEF
- ING becomes a member of the Global Round Table on Climate Change and publishes the ING Environmental Statement
- ING becomes the core sponsor of the UN Year of Microcredit
2006
- ING wins Diversity Award from Dutch employers’ organisation VNO-NCW
2007
- ING is carbon neutral for the first time (globally)
- ING and its employees give 125,000 children access to education
- ING joins the UN Global Compact

2008
- ING adopts the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)
- More than 12,000 employees take part in ING’s international volunteer day - the ING Chances for Children Global Challenge
