ING For Something Better

Training and development

ING takes a structured approach to executive training and development and is convinced that the development and education programmes for staff make them more engaged. In 2009, the ING Business School opened it’s new training centre and expanded its range of courses.

In spite of the downturn, ING continued to invest in the development of it’s talents, the Business School trained close to 2,000 participants, down slightly from 2,500 in 2008.  ING Business School also delivered its programmes trough a number of low cost high impact innovative learning initiatives, such a peer-to-peer learning meetings, webinars, and video lectures.

In the course of 2009, the leadership training programme on offer was refocused to the subject of crisis leadership, reflecting the need for senior managers to deal with crises and new challenges. In addition, ING Business School increased its business impact learning initiatives with a strong focus on operational excellence through extensive training in Lean Six Sigma.

We want our employees to embed responsible business principles and practices in their daily activities. That is why we have extended our existing CR training programmes. CR is an integral part of the training programmes for young talented employees and wholesale banking staff. CR is also taught at the ING Business School.
